THE TIMES, THEY ARE CHANGING

·         Imagine a world where farmers’s markets challenge the industrial food-distribution cartel.

·         Imagine a world where the young generations resist the power of “granny state” by building their own communes and co-ops thus embracing a new economic system.

·         Imagine a world where people will educate their children in virtual schools tailored to different learning styles.

·         Imagine a future in which millions of people live off the grid, powering their homes and vehicles with portable energy cells.

·         People who feel obsolete in today’s information economy will be seeked-for precisely for their creativity and their love for experimentation.

·         Unemployment will disappear as a first sign of dropout condition and will evolve into alternative lifestyles.

·         Private homes will increasingly give way to co-housing communities in which singles and nuclear families will build networks in shared kitchens and common areas.

·         Many young adults will start considering college as an overpriced status marker and little else.

·         Mutual aid and self-sufficiency will be the pillar of local governments which will take on the task of building high-tech infrastructure owned by the entire community.

·         Libertarian “hacktivists” will design digital currencies and barter schemes that will free people from the banking industry and its monopoly on financing.

·         New jobs that we can scarcely imagine will be home-based and will help restore life to bedroom cities that today are ghost towns from 9 to 5.

Somewhere in the suburbs there is an unemployed 23-year-old who is plotting a cultural insurrection.
